Social media in my opinion has given our generation the unique opportunity to pool their negativity all in one place. Never have I seen people ban together to collectively ridicule, rant or just plain send out their negative vibrations to the innocents standing in their way. You know the ones, they make you wonder if they sit around their computers with a virtual pin just waiting to burst your bubble. It is hard in such an environment to stay positive, but what most people don’t realize is that there is power in having a positive attitude.
I think it was Einstein who said, “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” The truth is life happens and sometimes we have very little control of how things turn out, but what we do have control over is how we view the situations we are in. Late last year I challenged myself to ask a simple question every time something did not go my way, and that question was, “What lesson can I learn from this?” This simple question allowed to readjust my thinking. Eventually, I started viewing my setbacks as lessons. It is amazing what can happen when you simple change the way you think about things.
A great way to start your day off on a positive note is to write a gratitude list. You can start with 10 things you have to be grateful for and meditate on this. This helps to put you in a positive frame of mind because you are now focusing on the good in life rather than the bad. I am by no means saying that you should forget your troubles, or neglect solving them, but it does help to keep a level head.
My next tip for you is to worry less, worrying about a problem will not only cause you more stress but surprisingly it doesn’t actually solve the problem! Take a step back, find the lesson and be patient. This is a good opportunity to practice your patience as well.
My last tip for you is to share with others, whether it be a kind word or a shoulder to cry on, positivity spreads easily. The best part of having a positive attitude is that you attract others into your life who are their own force of positivity and will help you to keep right on track. You may find yourself meeting people who bring so much joy and light into your life. And you will notice the naysayers and those with not so good intentions, falling by the wayside.
Life is too short to be a Negative Nancy, complaining and bellyaching about life getting you down. Be a force of positivity.

I love this! Whenever something bad happens, I immediately go into meltdown-mode, I’m trying really hard to work on building a more positive outlook, and this post really gives me a boost. The gratitude list is a great tip, and one I’ve been using on my own journey. Great post!
